Phiếu bảo hành sản phẩm và câu điều kiện

Văn bản bảo hành (warranty policies / warranty terms) thường áp dụng câu điều kiện loại 1 để quy định nghĩa vụ và quyền lợi khi xảy ra sự cố kỹ thuật:

• Công thức: If + S + V(hiện tại đơn), S + will / may / can + V(nguyên mẫu)
• If a defect occurs within twelve months, the manufacturer will replace the unit.

Thay cho If, văn bản trang trọng hay dùng Provided that, As long as, hoặc In the event that:

• In the event that parts are unavailable, a full refund will be issued.

Trong TOEIC Part 6, câu điều kiện thường xuất hiện dưới dạng đảo ngữ để tăng tính trang trọng:

1. Đảo ngữ loại 1 (với Should):

• If you need assistance... $\rightarrow$ *Should you need assistance, please contact customer care.*

2. Điều kiện loại 2 (với Were):

• If the item were defective... $\rightarrow$ *Were the item defective, an immediate exchange would occur.*

3. Điều kiện loại 3 (với Had):

• If you had registered earlier... $\rightarrow$ *Had you registered earlier, the warranty would have applied.*

Bốn loại câu điều kiện, câu hỗn hợp và wish/if only.
