Bẫy giữa Số lượng tuyệt đối và Tỷ lệ phần trăm
Thí sinh thường nhầm lẫn giữa con số tuyệt đối (absolute numbers) và tỷ lệ phần trăm (percentages/proportions).
- Đoạn văn gốc: "The number of electric vehicle sales rose by 15,000 units this quarter." (Chỉ nêu số lượng xe tăng).
- Câu hỏi: "Electric vehicles accounted for the majority of automotive sales this quarter." (Khẳng định chiếm đa số phần trăm).
- Đáp án: NOT GIVEN vì số lượng tăng không đồng nghĩa với việc chiếm tỷ lệ đa số.
Bẫy xu hướng và Mức độ tương đối
Chú ý sự khác biệt giữa tốc độ tăng trưởng (rate of growth) và giá trị thực tế (actual total).
- Đoạn văn gốc: "Solar power adoption experienced a rapid acceleration between 2020 and 2023, faster than any fossil fuel counterpart."
- Câu hỏi: "Solar power generated more total energy than fossil fuels in 2023."
- Đáp án: FALSE. Tốc độ tăng nhanh hơn (rapid acceleration) không có nghĩa là tổng sản lượng điện sinh ra nhiều hơn (more total energy).
